Tips on Trim Color
by Kathleen M. Peters, www.KatieDidDesign.com
If you look carefully in decorating magazines, you
will notice that all the trim in the entire house is frequently painted the
same color - regardless of each room's separate color scheme. And usually
that color is some variation of white or ivory.
Decorators often do this for several reasons.
First, painting all the trim the same color helps to unify the different
color schemes in the home. Second, white or ivory go with almost any
color scheme, and therefore make it easier to achieve this unity. And third, painting
the trim a lighter shade or color than the walls helps to give depth to the
room, and actually makes the room look a little larger!
